Jim's career has focused on complex business transactions often involving significant domestic, international and cross-border tax issues. He has worked as in-house counsel for approximately half of his legal career having also been a partner in one of the big four international accounting firms and two Dallas law firms.

He brings his background as an in-house counsel to effectively manage the legal aspects of commercial transactions in a way that balances the competing priorities of strong legal representation with the need to do so with appropriate speed and in a cost effective manner.

Jim works regularly with privately held entities of all sizes and in such work integrates the business and tax legal planning with the personal financial and estate planning of the owners.
